Sam and Jake’s Spreafico Farms wedding in San Luis Obispo, California, was a beautiful barn wedding filled with sentimental moments and personalized touches. From an intimate wedding party to custom songs written, it was a day designed just for the two of them. The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and a sense of pure love and joy for the newlyweds. I can’t wait to share with you some of my favorite memories from this day.

Engagement Story

Jake attempted to propose to Sam twice before it actually happened. The first time was spoiled by Sam attending a bachelorette and getting the date mixed up. The second time was delayed as Sam came down with Covid 19. The third time was the charm! Jake proposed to Sam against the picturesque backdrop of the Alaskan mountains while on a backcountry hiking trip. It was the perfect moment for this adventurous couple.

Ceremony

I am so glad I was there to assist Sam & Jake during their Spreafico Farms wedding, as it turned out to be a very blustery day. The last thing you want to worry about as a couple on your wedding day is if your decor will blow away and if your guests will be comfortable.

The ceremony took place amidst a beautiful hilltop overlooking the rolling hills of the farms and surrounding area. It was so windy that the bride’s wedding veil actually blew off during her processional, and a guest caught it. Thankfully, Sam handled the moment gracefully and continued on as if it never happened.

After the ceremony, guests were invited to the barn for a lively cocktail hour.

California Barn Wedding Details

Outside the barn on the patio, long dining tables were set under twinkling bistro lights that glistened as the sunset throughout the evening. The bride’s vision was romantic but wild, so she chose a classic white color palette with subtle pops of light blue. Blue details were incorporated into the bride’s personal details, floral centerpieces, napkins, and other little areas throughout the space. Each guest’s table included white linens and wood folding chairs that provided a rustic feel.

Personalized Touches

I absolutely love it when the couple chooses to incorporate family and personalized details as part of their wedding day. The groom’s sister married the couple as their wedding officiant. While his brother gifted the bride and groom with a custom song written just for them during his best man speech. Later in the evening, Jake surprised his new wife, Sam, with a custom-written song. This musical family had the whole room in tears for each beautiful moment.

It was such a joy working with Sam & Jake for their Spreafico Farms wedding. I loved bringing their vision to life and seeing the newlyweds surrounded by their friends and family.
